Backpack is an Intranet, group calendar, organizer application. Which allows users to share info, schedules, documents, and to-dos across acompany, group, or organization.

sounds like persoanl forum for company.. if u r looking for web application u can try for php language.. nd u can get code for many open sourse provider.. like phpbb, simplemachineforum etc..
